Notice of Intent to Initiate Solano Bayshore Resiliency Project Subregional Shoreline Adaptation Plan that includes the Jurisdiction(s) of County of Solano, City of Benicia, City of Suisun City, City of Vallejo, and City of Fairfield
The Solano Bayshore Resiliency Project is a collaborative, multi-jurisdictional adaptation planning effort facilitated through the Solano Resiliency Roundtable and aligned with BCDC’s Regional Shoreline Adaptation Plan (RSAP). This project includes comprehensive community outreach and engagement, sea level rise vulnerability assessment, and development of a multi-jurisdictional regional shoreline action plan for unincorporated Solano County and the cities of Vallejo, Fairfield, Suisun City, and Benicia. Building on previous studies, the project will evaluate the feasibility of nature-based, green, and hybrid adaptation solutions, with focus areas including vulnerable regions within the project area and the Suisun Marsh, the largest remaining wetland in the San Francisco Bay Area. The project prioritizes equitable engagement with historically underrepresented communities to ensure fair and inclusive outcomes while guiding place-based community planning and critical infrastructure investment decisions.
