Oil Spill Response Program

BCDC partners with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife Office of Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR) in the event of oil spill incidents in BCDC’s jurisdiction. BCDC staff is trained in the Incident Command System and National Incident Management System, and can be deployed to assist in the event of a significant incident.

Report ALL spills to the National Response Center: 800-OILS-911 & 800-424-8802

To further protect the Bay and its resources, BCDC is a partner on several regional, state, and federal teams to address response and management of oil spills incidents and other similar events. These groups include, but are not limited to:
