Environmental Assessment for the Cargill, Incorporated Solar Salt System Maintenance and Operations Activities Project
Cargill, Incorporated (“Cargill”) will be seeking a new permit from BCDC for the continued authorization of maintenance and operation activities at Cargill’s solar salt system in Newark and Redwood City (the “Project”). For purposes of the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”), BCDC is the lead agency for the Project.
Notice of Intent to Finalize an Environmental Assessment
Under its regulatory program certified by the Secretary of the California Natural Resources Agency as meeting the requirements of Public Resources Code section 21080.5 (see 14 CCR section 15251(h)), BCDC has prepared a draft environmental assessment (PDF) for the Project. BCDC has also prepared a Notice of Intent to Finalize the EA (PDF) which informs potentially-interested persons of BCDC’s preparation of the Draft EA for the Project to enable them to comment on the document prior to its finalization and consideration by the Commission along with Cargill’s forthcoming permit application for the Project.
