Climate Change Bay Plan Amendment

On October 6, 2011, BCDC unanimously approved an amendment to the San Francisco Bay Plan to address climate change. These findings and policies have been incorporated into the Bay Plan and are now in effect.

The Background Report, Living With A Rising Bay: Vulnerability And Adaptation In San Francisco Bay And On the Shoreline [ 15MB ] (As approved on October 6, 2011 ), identifies vulnerabilities in the Bay Area’s economic and environmental systems, as well as the potential impacts of climate change on public health and safety. The background report provides the basis for all versions of the proposed findings and policies concerning climate change.
