Preparing for Sea Level Rise in the Bay Area - A Local Government Forum
Preparing for Sea Levels in the Bay Area was a forum for local governments sponsored by the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC), together with the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD), and the San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Planners, government officials, and scientific experts from the Bay area counties convened to discuss the state of the science of climate change, specifically sea-level rise, and current and potential adaptation strategies. In addition to preparing Bay communities for sea-level rise, the forum provided an opportunity for local organizations and agencies to form partnerships creating synergy in various planning efforts.
