  3. Alameda Boatworks (First Review) Exhibit

    The Design Review Board will review a proposal to develop a 9.48-acre parcel west of the Park Street Bridge at 2235 Clement Street, in the City and County of Alameda. The site is bounded by Clement Avenue on the south, Oak Street on the east, Elm Street on the West, and the Alameda-Oakland Estuary to the north.

    The proposed project includes 182 housing units (portions of 19 units are within the shoreline band), an approximately 1.32-acre open space public access area along the waterfront, and two sidewalks within the development (largely outside the Commission’s jurisdiction) that would be dedicated public access and connect to existing city streets. 

    Within the open space area, proposed public access improvements include a split-level pier, an approximately 600-foot long portion of the Bay Trail, a lawn area, waterfront overlooks, a tot lot, picnic tables, barbeque pits, four parking spaces, and an entry plaza. Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act. As a state agency, the Commission is governed by the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act which requires the Commission to (1) publish an agenda at least ten days in advance of any meeting; (2) describe specifically in that agenda the items to be transacted or discussed; and (3) refuse to add an item subsequent to the published agenda. In addition to these general requirements the Bagley-Keene Act includes other specific provisions about how meetings are to be announced and conducted.
