    BCDC's Design Review Board and the Port of San Francisco's Waterfront Design Advisory Committee will hold a public hearing on a proposal to renovate the existing structures and outdoor spaces at Piers 31½ and 33 to provide enhanced visitor services and an upgraded interpretive center associated with passenger ferry services to Alcatraz Island. The project would involve: (a) renovating the Pier 33 bulkhead building to accommodate a café and retail space and restoring the original window openings in the south façade of the building to provide ticket service windows; (b) renovating the Pier 33 pier shed to establish a visitor center, concession stand, restrooms, and staff break room; (c) installing a covered pavilion area for ticketed passengers, outdoor dining area, benches, interpretive displays, railing, and bike racks and reconfiguring a parking area on the Pier 31½ deck; and (d) modifying an existing driveway cut and curb segment along the Embarcadero roadway in front of Pier 31½.

BagleyKeene Open Meeting Act. As a state agency, the Commission is governed by the BagleyKeene Open Meeting Act which requires the Commission to (1) publish an agenda at least ten days in advance of any meeting; (2) describe specifically in that agenda the items to be transacted or discussed; and (3) refuse to add an item subsequent to the published agenda. In addition to these general requirements the BagleyKeene Act includes other specific provisions about how meetings are to be announced and conducted.
