October 16, 2014 Commission Meeting Summary
16 members attended today's BCDC meeting, which was held at MetroCenter in Oakland.
The Commission viewed an early chapter of “Saving San Francisco Bay” and heard a letter written by Jeanie McLaughlin Shaterian, daughter of Sylvia McLaughlin, one of the founders of Save San Francisco Bay, in honor of BCDC’s upcoming 50th anniversary.
The Commission held a public hearing on, and voted 14-0-0 to approve, a permit application from Pacific Gas and Electric Company to install a submarine transmission cable and ancillary features in the Bay and shoreline band within the City and County of San Francisco. The Commission received a briefing by the Port of San Francisco on its seventeen-year review of the Waterfront Land Use Plan. For details contact Lindy Lowe (415/352-3642; email@example.com).

The next regularly scheduled Commission meeting will occur on November 6, 2014, and will be held at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. The preliminary agenda will include:
- A public hearing on the Blu Harbor development proposal at the former Pete’s Harbor in Redwood City; and,
- A briefing on the status of the Middle Harbor Enhancement Project at the Port of Oakland.
