February 6, 2014 Commission Meeting Summary
BCDC Commissioners, Alternates, and Staff:
19 members attended today's BCDC meeting, which was held at the Ferry Building in San Francisco.
The Commission voted unanimously to enter into a contract with the University of California, San Diego to support the work of a 2014 Sea Grant Fellow at BCDC. For details contact Brenda Goeden (415/352-3623; firstname.lastname@example.org).
The Commission received a briefing on the purposes and functions of BCDC's Design Review Board (DRB) and Engineering Criteria Review Board (ECRB), which are composed of volunteer experts. For details contact Ellen Miramontes (415/352-3643; email@example.com).
The Commission received a briefing on AB 1273, legislation approved by the State Legislature and signed into law by Governor Brown in 2013, which concerns the possible construction of a multi-purpose venue and associated development on Piers 30-32 along the San Francisco waterfront. The Commission received a briefing from representatives of the Golden State Warriors basketball team on the design of its proposed multi-purpose venue and associated development on Piers 30-32 along the San Francisco waterfront. For details contact Jaime Michaels (415/352-3613; email@example.com).
The next regularly scheduled Commission meeting will be held on February 20, 2014 (1:00 P.M.) at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. The tentative agenda includes:
- A briefing on the Brown Administration's Bay Delta Conservation Plan and its possible ramifications on the waters in BCDC's jurisdiction;
- A briefing on "Safeguarding California," a climate change strategy promulgated by the Natural Resources Agency, and its possible ramifications on BCDC laws and policies; and,
- A briefing on the cleanup of, and the removal of vessels from, the Oakland estuary.
