November 2, 2010 Special Commission Meeting Summary
Eleven members attended a special meeting, which was held at the Ferry Building in San Francisco.
The Commission continued its public hearing on making revisions to the San Francisco Bay Plan to address climate change. The hearing was opened on October 7, 2010, continued to October 21, 2010, and will be continued at the Commission’s next meeting on November 4, 2010. A panel of key stakeholders endorsed the idea of amending the Bay Plan to address sea level rise and urged the Commission to move as quickly as possible to approve the amendments. The panel was made up of Dr. Peter Gleick of the Pacific Institute; Marc Homes of the Bay Institute; David Lewis of Save the Bay; and Gabriel Metcalf of the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association. A second panel of other key stakeholders will provide additional input to the Commission at its November 18, 2010 meeting.
