Tentative Agenda

  1. Roll Call, Introductions and Approval of Agenda
    BCDC staff will call the roll; Chair Nelson will solicit introductions from visitors and staff.  Working Group approval of the Agenda.

  2. Approval of August 18, 2016 Meeting Summary
    The Working Group will consider approval of staff’s draft Meeting Summary of the Working Group’s August meeting * Please reference the document from Agenda Item 3 of the August 18, 2016 meeting.

  3. Briefing on the Caltrans Grant – Regional Resilience Project
    Lindy Lowe will brief the Working Group on recently awarded grant to MTC, BCDC and BARC from Caltrans to conduct a vulnerability assessment and develop adaptation strategies for transportation assets (roads, rail, Bay Trail, etc.), Priority Development Areas, Priority Conservation Areas and communities with characteristics that make them more vulnerable to sea level rise. The work conducted under the grant will serve as the basis for integrating this issue into the update to Plan Bay Area that occurs after the 2017 update. The total amount of money is $1.2 million and the duration is over 2 and 1/2 years. Work will begin in October 2016.

  4. Briefing on Policies for A Rising Bay Project
    Isaac Pearlman will discuss with the Working Group the observations and possible actions identified in the Policies for a Rising Bay Project, its implications for the Commission’s sea level rise initiatives, and policies issues the Working Group may want to further consider.

  5. Working Group Work Plan
    The Working Group will consider a revised plan for the upcoming six months of meetings and discussions. This will include the topics that will be included regarding the built environment and the development of information for full Commission workshops.
